Meeting at the L.Sakvarelidze National Center for Disease Control and Public Health
On May 22, 2013 at the L. Sakvarelidze National Center for Disease Control and Public Health the meeting was held with the representatives of US Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) / Georgia Office, CH2MHILL and NCDC Laboratory Department. The issues regarding integration and further cooperation with Richard Lugar Center for Public Health Research were discussed during the meeting.

Training Seminar
On May 17, 2013 at 4 pm the Training Seminar will be held at the conference hall of National Center for Disease Control and Public Health. The topic of the Training Seminar is “Measles”.

On May 14, 2013 at 5 pm Photodermatology and Skin Cancer Association of Georgia with the support of National Center for Disease Control and Public Health will hold the briefing: Pan-European Campaign for Skin Cancer Prevention. “Euromelanoma” Director General and Head of Scientific Council of National Center for Disease Control and Public Health as well as experts from Photodermatology and Skin Cancer Association of Georgia will attend the Briefing. World Asthma Day May 7, 2013
World Asthma Day is an annual event organized by the Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA) to improve asthma awareness and care around the world. WORLD ASTHMA DAY NEWS World Asthma Day 2013 will take place on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 and the theme will continue to be "You Can Control Your Asthma." However, this year GINA will also introduce a sub-theme, "It's Time to Control Asthma." We encourage activity organizers around the world to complete the sentence, "It's Time to..." as relevant to their event and target audience. Read more

World Malaria Day, 25 April 2013
Over the last decade, the world has made major progress in the fight against malaria. Since 2000, malaria mortality rates have fallen by more than 25%, and 50 of the 99 countries with ongoing transmission are now on track to meet the 2015 World Health Assembly target of reducing incidence rates by more than 75%. A major scale-up of vector control interventions, together with increased access to diagnostic testing and quality-assured treatment, has been key to this progress. Read more
European Immunization Week 22-27 April, 2013 Prevent, Protect, Immunize
WHO Regional Office for Europe declared April 21-27 as the European Immunization Week. The Week aims to draw attention to the importance of immunization. The goal of European Immunization Week is to increase vaccination coverage by raising awareness of the importance of immunization through special focus on vulnerable groups of population. Georgia as a member state of WHO European region takes part in the Immunization Week since 2007. European Immunization Week focuses on the diseases that can be prevented by vaccination (so called vaccine-preventable diseases). Read more

Module Presentation of the Management of Immunization Program
On April 24, 2013 at National Center for Disease Control and Public Health in the framework of Health System Strengthening Project / USAID was held: Electronic Module Presentation of the Management of Immunization Program
In order to develop the management of immunization program, National Center for Disease Control and Public Health within the Health System Strengthening Project / USAID developed an electronic module of the management of immunization program.
